The Gavia Science Bay Module is a generic payload module that allows a Gavia user to add up to six scientific sensors to the Gavia AUV. The module includes several hull penetrations, including four (4) penetrations that can accommodate WetLabs ECO pucks, two external wet plugs that can provide power and serial communication for external devices, one slot for a SeaBird CTD, one penetration that can accommodate an Aanderaa Optode oxygen sensor, as well as a weak link on the bottom of the module. The weak link provides the option of towing an external sensor and reduces stress on the wet plug.

To use with an Android device simply download the free App from Google Play, plug the probe into your device with the supplied interface cables and start the application. The probe receives its power from the host USB device. Real time data is displayed and can be stored for review on the PC using a spread sheet or review data graphically using our free Track-It™ data logger software. Available in 300mm or 450mm (12” or 18”) lengths. The probe comes standard with a free flow Delrin cap. Optional sintered stainless steel filter caps are available for measuring dry bulk material or for use in dusty/dirty environments. Field pre-calibrated replacement sensors are available (with or without N.I.S.T. certificate).

Columbia's SI-701 Series of Inclinometers are electronic tilt sensors based on Force Balance Accelerometer technology. They produce high level low impedance output proportional to the sine of the tilt angle. Model SI-701B is a low cost general purpose sensor that can be up-graded with the addition of the Columbia "HP" torquer system (SI-701BI) for greater accuracy and ruggedness. A bi-axial version of both units (SI-702B) is also available. The Model SI-701BI is designed with an output circuit made for 4-20mA data transmission systems for industrial applications. The model SI-701FND is a fluid dampened premium performance inclinometer designed to produce accurate tilt data in extreme shock and vibration environments. The latest addition in the line is Model SI-701WPBI, a waterproof (to 150 feet) inclinometer which operates from a +15 volt supply with 4-20mA output. A single power supply powers both the sensor and the 4-20mA line driver.
